Val d’Isere

Unlike many of the neighbouring resorts in the Savoie area of France, Val D’Isere existed long before skiing began, in fact the village dates as far back as the Roman Times!
As such the town has a traditional village feel with many old stone clad buildings helping make this resort truly stunning and arguably one of the nicest looking ski resorts in the world.

The ski area available to you during your stay is also one of the finest you’ll find the world over.
The Val D’Isere ski area is joined with the equally awesome ski area of Tignes.
These two ski areas combined are known as the Espace Killy, named after the most famous and successful French ski racer, Jean Claude Killy who was born and raised in Val D’Isere.

The Espace Killy has a massive 300km of perfectly groomed pistes, along with 94 high quality ski lifts, 2 snow parks, free-ride itinerary routes and ‘Ski Tranquile’ area for the beginners, the area has something for everyone.

At an altitude that means guaranteed snow, Val d’Isere is consistently voted one of the top ten ski resorts worldwide!

The area also has some amazing Off-piste, much of which is accessible from the ski lifts. Some great ski touring can also be found all around so if you prefer to get away from it all and really be out in the wilderness then this is easily possible.

Whilst up on the mountain you’ll never be far away from one of the many mountain restaurants offering both Self-service and some excellent A La Carte menus to chose from, not to mention the all important warming hot chocolates and local Genepy for those needing a little pick me up!

In town there are many restaurants, some even having been awarded Michelin stars. There are also many bars in various styles to suit and it’s well known that the resort has a good party atmosphere for those looking for the infamous ‘Apre-ski’.
For those looking for some retail therapy then look no further, not only does the resort have some of the best ski shops around selling all the top brands but also some great fashion stores.

Everything you’ll need during your stay is easily accessible and most of the resort is within comfortable walking distance.
There is also a very regular free bus services running from early in the morning before the lifts open until the early hours for those who want to stay out and party longer!
